  • 1 large sweet or yellow onion
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ? cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400?F (200?C).
  2. Cut half an inch off the top of the onion and peel the skin. Place it root-side down.
  3. Slice downwards at one-inch intervals without cutting through the root.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Beat the eggs in another bowl and place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Dredge the onion in flour mixture, dip into egg wash, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and place onion inside. Cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce for dipping.
