- 1 large sweet or yellow onion
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ? cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 400?F (200?C).
- Cut half an inch off the top of the onion and peel the skin. Place it root-side down.
- Slice downwards at one-inch intervals without cutting through the root.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Beat the eggs in another bowl and place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge the onion in flour mixture, dip into egg wash, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and place onion inside. Cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce for dipping.
