Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Base
  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 1 cup oats rolled
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
Topping
  • 1/2 cup no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar optional
  • 1 tsp vinegar apple cider or white

Method
 

Prepare the Mixture
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, oats, beaten egg, onion, garlic, bell pepper, black pepper, thyme, oregano, and paprika.
  3. Mix until well combined.
Shape and Bake
  1. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165?F (74?C).
Serve
  1. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve warm with your choice of sides.
