Ingredients
  

For the Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20 for flavor
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger fresh, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 scallions green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
For Serving
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated
  • 1 cup shredded carrots optional
  • 1 cup cucumber sliced, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Beef Filling
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, saut? for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and gochujang. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Assemble the Wraps
  1. Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a portion of the beef filling into the center.
  2. Top with shredded carrots and cucumber if desired.
  3. Wrap the lettuce around the filling and enjoy!
