- 2 lbs fresh clams (littlenecks or quahogs)
- 2 live lobsters (about 1.5 lbs each)
- 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
- 4 ears of corn on the cob, cut into thirds
- 1 lb spicy smoked sausages, cut into pieces
- 2 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
Instructions
- Rinse clams under cold water and soak for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water with salt to a rolling boil.
- Add potatoes; cover and steam for 10 minutes.
- Stir in sausages and corn; cover and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add lobsters; cover tightly and cook for 8 minutes.
- Finally, add clams; cover and steam until shells open (about 6 minutes).
- Serve on a large platter or picnic table with melted butter for dipping.
