  • 1 cup dried fava beans (soaked overnight)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried fava beans in water overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked beans, then place them in the slow cooker.
  3. Add minced garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, and olive oil to the beans.
  4. Pour enough water to cover the beans by about an inch.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours.
  6. Once cooked, check for tenderness; if needed, continue cooking for an additional hour.
