Description

  • 6 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300?F (150?C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal and nuts (if using). Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently stir to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the coated cereal onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool completely before serving.
