Description

Experience the bliss of homemade chocolate croissants, where flaky puff pastry meets rich, melted chocolate. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a decadent snack, these croissants are surprisingly easy to make and will impress anyone lucky enough to enjoy them. With a golden-brown exterior and a gooey center, each bite is an adventure in flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400?F (200?C) and clear your workspace.
  2. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Cut into large triangles (approximately 6 per sheet).
  4. Place a piece of dark chocolate at the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll up each triangle from the wide end towards the pointy end, ensuring they're snug but not too tight.
  6. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with egg wash (whisk egg and milk together).
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffy. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
