- 1 cup fresh cherries (pitted)
- 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center, add the egg, and enough water to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth.
- Pit and chop cherries, then combine with sugar in a bowl to release juices.
- Roll out dough thinly and cut into circles using a glass or cookie cutter.
- Place a spoonful of cherry filling on each circle, fold over, and seal tightly.
- Boil salted water; drop in vareniki gently. Cook until they float (about 3-5 minutes). Remove with a slotted spoon.
- Serve warm topped with sour cream.
