Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110?F)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cooked pork belly or chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pickled vegetables

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add warm water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
  2. Let It Rise: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Shape the Buns: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions. Roll each portion into balls and flatten them into circles about four inches wide.
  4. Fill Your Buns: Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle, fold over the dough, and pinch to seal securely.
  5. Steam Away: Arrange buns on parchment paper in a steamer basket. Steam over boiling water for about eight minutes until fluffy.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Transfer to plates and serve warm with soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
