- 12 ounces ziti pasta
- 1 pound lean ground beef (80/20)
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ? cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375?F (190?C).
- Cook the ziti in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 6-8 minutes; drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce.
- In a bowl, mix together the cooked pasta, beef mixture, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Spread half of the mixture in a greased baking dish, top with remaining pasta mixture, and sprinkle with remaining cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
