  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350?F (175?C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold until just combined.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into each cavity of the donut pan about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before glazing with a mixture of powdered sugar and lemon juice.
