- 6 cups day-old French bread cubes
- 2 cups tart apples (like Granny Smith), diced
- 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped and toasted
- 1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350?F (175?C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and celery; saut? until softened (about 5 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, saut?ed vegetables, apples, pecans, and herbs.
- In another bowl, whisk together chicken broth and eggs; pour over the dry mixture and stir until moistened.
- Transfer stuffing to a greased baking dish; cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
