- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ? cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by chopping the onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot. Saut? until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and kidney beans; add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for about an hour for flavors to meld.
- Serve hot in bowls topped with sour cream and shredded cheese.
